AJESUSINDEPENDENCE

1 Peter 2:13-17

Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right. For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men. Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God. Honor all men; love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.

Do You Want More Prayer Power? June, 2013

PrayerWell if you do, you are not alone.  Years ago, I was desperate for prayer.  I had only heard one person in my life say they were “working for the Lord.” at a very early age and I remember silently saying:  “Hmmm, I like that idea.”   However, my life was to have many twists and turns before that would happen.   There came a long dry season in which I needed to learn about prayer and faith and move closer to God…and I am thankful for that season.

Jesus prayed all of the time.  Do you see how much prayer  power he had.  I never read one account in the bible of him failing.  I do not care about other belief systems, nor do I respect them at al; simply because I know that they are false and missing the mark.  One of the reasons that so many have embraced false religions is because for so many of them, they have seen no difference in our lives.  Of course, I can say that if we were to share some of our wonderful stories they would be more inspired to investigate.

But I do want to take time right this moment to encourage you to press in and pray like Jesus at all times and to get serious so that we can move in the New Testament miracles!

Psalm 107:28-30 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven

Pray For Our Country! April, 2013

And God said:“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
(2 Chron. 7:14)
Almighty and Eternal Father, we thank you for the inspiration and courage you gave to the founding fathers of our nation to establish a land where your principles and laws would guide us.  You have provided for this nation mightily with every good thing but we have squandered your gifts and turned away from your laws and principles.
Forgive us Lord. We acknowledge we have sinned against you and one another in every conceivable way.  We deserve your just punishment but plead for your mercy.
(Nehe. 1: 4-11)

Grant us, the people of our nation, the grace to turn from our sins and return to you that we might be healed.  We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, your Son and our Savior. Amen
God is faithful to His Word and shall accomplish that which He has spoken.
(Isaiah 55:11)

Why Aren’t You Crying? by Elaine Davenport October, 2012

I heard the voice of the Lord saying:  “Whom shall I send and who will go for Us.”  And I said, “Here am I, send me.”  Isaiah 6: 8

As I read the devotional of Smith Wigglesworth I was struck by the message.

You see, many of us come to Christ, get saved, sanctified and speak in heavenly languages.  We get cleaned up and then God starts making our lives better, answering our prayers,,,but studies show that 90% of Born again saints have never saved a soul or made soul winning their ministry.  It’s downright embarrassing.

How  can we say that we are happy knowing so many people around us are headed to hell.  Then there is this awful denial.  I have never been to a funeral that says someone is going to hell.  Yet, I’ve seen on two occasions people put a liquor bottle in a casket and everyone laughed.  I pray that I never see this again and if I do…I pray that my tears will not stop.

We must examine our values for you see that as we compromise; it dulls our compassion.!

If God is first in our lives…everything that we do or say is to be pleasing to Him.  Otherwise we lie ourselves.  As Smith Wigglesworth says:  “If we do not weep …then we are not Pentecost-full.”   And that my friend…is very sad.  We’ve got our PRAYER work cut out for us!

Why Won’t You Pray? by Elaine Davenport June 23, 2012

You can’t see your next problem, but God can.  He wants to help you avoid a big mess, but you keep ignoring Him.  In some cases, you need Him…but you’re stubborn or way too misinformed in thinking it way too small of a problem to bother God about.   Maybe, you are like some “supersmart” people that I know.   They can handle everything themselves.  And that’s okay too if you like bad endings or endings that end way short of the best likely outcome!  This isn’t just talk.

My spiritual Father has always taught of the successes that manifest as a result of having a viable prayer life!   It is so true.  I never ever want to miss a day of prayer; an opportunity to hear and be ministered to personally by God!   NEVER!!  It’s unthinkable!

When people call me with a problem…I will not talk a long time.  I point them to prayer.  But guess what?   They don’t want to do that sometimes…they just want to talk about it with me or whoever.   Will that help them?  NO WAY!

If you are experiencing a problem…get out your Bible or Bible app or whatever your source  of reference and access your bible scriptures and READ them.   I guarantee you that you will be comforted!

Prayer changed my life and it can change yours too.  It is an opportunity to talk to God.   You see…God loves you so much that He’s just waiting to tell you…just waiting to show you.  His arms are wide open and He is eagerly waiting to hold you, to calm your fears and wipe away all of your troubles.   This is so true.

After many years of praying, I found out that God wanted to have a back and forth conversation.  Sometimes I ride along the freeway and I listen as God speaks to my heart!  I get so much peace from that.

Here are some scriptures that will Bless you.  Write me and tell me about your efforts to have a Fabulous prayer life!  It will Bless my heart!!!    Thanks   Love Elaine

Let my prayer be set forth as incense before You, the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. Psalm 141: 2

Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; and listen to the cry of my supplications. Psalm 86: 6

Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. Philippians 4: 6

Be earnest and unwearied and steadfast in your prayer [life], being [both] alert and intent in [your praying] with thanksgiving. Colossians 4: 2

Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; have mercy on me, and hear my prayer. Psalm 4: 1(NKJV)

The Lord has heard my supplication; the Lord receives my prayer. Psalm 6: 9

When God Says: “Go!” By E. Davenport December 16, 2011

Isaiah 30:21 says, “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This [is] the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Yesterday, I had a directive from my heart to attend a training meeting that I was invited to.  As soon as I found out that I had overslept I immediately began to rationalize my not going.  I heard a really small voice say:  “Press your way.”    ” Okay Lord, I will.”  I replied.

So, I went to the meeting.  I went to the meeting and I kept wondering why the Lord wanted me to go?   I arrived and I knew nobody, this did not bother me at all because  lately I’ve managed to mesh into the background very well and have found some comfort there.  (It’s a humility role)

At the meeting, I made a new friend; a believer and as I spoke to them; I truly believe the Lord was using me when I spoke.   I’m so glad that I made this friend because they have expertise and training in areas that I need tio know about.  That’s Divine!!
