Prayer For Triumph Over Obstacles (Wednesday, February 20, 2008)

O Jehovah Elohim, you are the God of the Trinity; the God who swore an oath, the Covenant keeping God, the God who swore things into being, we bask in Your presence. O great El Elyon the Most High God, You are strong and mighty. we reverence You, we worship You…Oh El Shaddai, you are Great and Almighty, we are thankful that You seek to have a relationship with us, to be our friend, to Bless and Comfort us! We Bless You and stand before You in the Authority of Jesus, Your beloved Son with whom You are well pleased!

We bring our prayer petitions to lay at your feet our woes, our burdens, our challenges, everything that we face that we have no ability to carry including burdensome thoughts and we give them to You know that you told us to cast our care upon You because You care for us. So we give thanks. Whew! That’s better Lord.

We ask You to send out our ministering angels today to go before us and to prosper our way. We say that we hear Your voice today and that of a stranger we ignore. Strengthen our hearts and bring us closer to you. Teach us to withstand our trials knowing that our faith will get stronger. Father, show us how to focus on the problems, mountains and challenges that other people face and guide us to Bless them in some way. Let us be mindful that we are Your worksmanship and that we always represent You and that our acts and words will be a witness to others to bring them into the kingdom of God. We ask for Your mercy if we’ve missed it in any way and it is our heart’s desire to improve ourselves. Teach us to live our lives exalting You and remaining strong in humility and not in pride. We have authority as believers, please send us instruction and correction in that area. It is our prayer that each and every day we honor You more and more and spend more time with You. We want to grow to a p-lace where we are so spiritually strong that when the trials come we are strong like the Apostle Paul, forgetting those things that are behind and looking ahead as we press towards the mark of the high calling. Thank You for that Father, In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

A Prayer For Marriages by Elaine Davenport

“Be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives.”
I Peter 3: 1b

“You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered”.
I Peter 3: 7

Heavenly Father, we come before your throne this day with thankful and sometimes heavy hearts. We pray a prayer of agreement. We are asking you to give husbands and wives peace, healing, spiritual strength, discipline, tolerance, happiness, humility, flexibility, empathy, compassion, good ethics, provision, faithfulness, loyatly, God ideas, businesses, good parenting skills, Godly wisdom, understanding and whatever they may need to have a successful union. Help them to understand that in order to have success they have to have love. It is our prayer that the weights, cares, anxieties, pressures and distractions of this present world be removed. We ask it all in the Name Of Jesus. Amen.

A Special Prayer For People With Problems….by Elaine Davenport (Friday, November 23, 2007)

Dearest Father God, I lift up my brothers and sister this day and I stand in prayer agreement with them. We cast all of their cares on You knowing that You care for them. You said in Your Word: Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers; we thank You that today their souls, their minds, their wills, their emotions will prosper as well as their health will prosper. We decree that they will prosper financially and that they will prosper in favor. We pray that your favor that is the favor of God will encompass them as a shield. We plead the blood of Jesus over them and everything that is theirs. We release their angels to go out before them to prosper their way.

Father, we lift up any concern that anyone has this day. Today, they may have a heavy weight on them, but we declare that after this prayer they will feel a lightness because the know deep in their hearts that they gave the care to you. We pray that You will supernaturally correct the problem. We know that the solution doesn’t have to appear before our eyes and we know that we don’t have to know exactly how. We can have peace today that You will turn things around because we trust in You. Thank You for going before us and making the crooked places straight. Father, I’m asking You to pour Your love on each person that is in need. We thank You and ask it all in the mighty authority of Jesus the Anointed One. Amen.

Prayer for the Week of October 1-7, 2007

O Righteous and Most Precious Father, Almighty God. It is my prayer that you Bless everyone reading this prayer today. I pray that they will increase their confidence and be firmly persuaded to study and believe Your Word. I pray that they will have clarity of mind in all of their decisions, I pray that they will come to know Your love for them and their future. You said: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health; even as thy soul prospereth in 111John 2.

I pray that their steps will be ordered by the Lord, that Your presence will go with them and You will give them rest. I pray that You will hold their right hand saying unto them: Fear not, I will help you. I pray that they will increase more and more them and their children. I pray that they will cast their burdens on you, knowing that you care for them. Father, strengthen hearts this day. I bind the spirit of confusion or fear and loose Godly wisdom and peace over each and every life in Jesus Name. Amen

Precious Father, we stand before Your throne this day. First and foremost we give You thanks for this glorious day. As we look upon the heavens and all of Your creation we are in awe of You. We are thankful indeed for the gift of life eternal life and that we are redeemed from poverty, sickness and spiritual death. We are thankful for Your instruction manual that You have given to us; the bible. Today, we pray that all men will move closer to you and gain wisdom on the truth of Your word. It is our prayer that they will realize that Your word is alive.

Thank You Father, that you don’t care about our background and the things that we’ve done because You love us unconditionally. Thank You Father that healing, love joy, wisdom, salvation, favor, peace and mercy are Yours to give freely give to all that ask of You. Teach us to patiently wait for You to fix the broken pieces in our lives just being confident that You will do and always do what Your word says that You will do.

Help us to be compassionate and caring towards our fellow man. Give us insights this day as You order our steps. Strengthen us in the weak areas of our lives. Areas like: temptation, carelessness, integrity, offense, sensitivity, apathy and any other area that is not pleasing to You. We bind the spirits of: wickedness, confusion, revenge and spitefulness in our lives. We loose spirits of: calmness and peace, confidence and joy, compassion and love, and all that is good.

We release our angels to go before us to protect us from any hurt, harm or danger.
Enable us this day to speak Your word in all that we do; thus incorporating it as a full part of our lives. In Jesus name we pray. AMEN.

You must be consistent by Elaine Davenport (Friday, July 13, 2007)

Whether it be prayer, faith, peace, wisdom; whatever your situation, you MUST be consistent in your approach. What you put in is what you get out in many cases.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be firm (steadfast), immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord [always being superior, excelling, doing more than enough in the service of the Lord], knowing and being continually aware that your labor in the Lord is not futile [it is never wasted or to no purpose]. 1Corinthians 15:58

Dearest Friend, I am pleased to greet you, write to you and encourage you today. My prayers go out in agreement with your prayers and I know that all is well. The seasons are changing and we are changing with them. Maybe a stranger cannot see it on the outside of us, but our faith is getting stronger and stronger every single day. We are OVERCOMERS. I pray that all is well with you and your family today. I assure you that as you stand in faith believing God that it will be…all will be well. I have to talk to you about some important things before this year winds down on us. I’m just asking you to take a few minutes of your time to read this letter. You see, I’ve been trying to write it all month and now there aren’t many if any days left. Smile.

Be consistent is the message that I have for you. It means: be steady, be reliable, be unfailing, be regular, be dependable, be stable and be continual. Webster’s 1824 Dictionary describes: marked by harmony, regularity, or steady continuity : free from variation or contradiction ;a consistent style in painting. This whole entire month I have been trying to find a way in human example to describe to you. I continuously found examples in being consistent; but I was looking for a story that I personally knew more about to share with you. Let me say that being consistent is something that is hard to assess by an outsider in many cases. We can all best assess ourselves.

I prayed for yet another good example, (there are many/ a lot that I do and do not know about) just when time was running out, I ran into my friend Rene. Rene is a faith friend of mine. She works as a cashier in a market that I go into. I don’t casually know her. All of the stores that I patronize I get to know the people who work there. I met Rene right around seventeen years ago.

When I first met Rene, she made it clear that she loved Jesus. I didn’t ask her; she volunteered. It was amazing to me because at the time, I wasn’t so verbal myself that way about my love for Jesus. Smile. She was so full of the love of God that it showed. Customers gravitated to her. As long as I’ve known her, she has walked to and from work, well over five miles in each direction. I know personally that God is first in Rene’s life. She is consistent with God and He is the head of her life. She consults Him about every decision that she makes, every single one. She has sacrificed greatly for her family over the years. I believe that now she is raising her little granddaughter. Even when she had tough times, I never once heard her complain, not one time.

One day, I made a decision to get in her line at the store, no matter what. When we see each other we share testimonies. I know that if I talk to Rene, I’m going to have yet another great opportunity to give God praise in public. A lot of people hear us when we do this. We don’t care. We aren’t loud or obnoxious. Usually when I look around I see people smiling when they hear us because they know we are truly sincere and not just grabbing attention. A lot of times some of the other cashiers join in and we even have had the manager joining in on our declaring the wonder of God on the job in front of customers. We can’t shrink back, we can’t waiver.
I hadn’t seen Rene in a while and when I did she was telling me why. Her words were: ELAINE, LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT GOD’S FAVOR! She explained that she had went into the hospital for a 45 minute surgery and she woke up on life support eleven hours later! She said she did not know what had happened but she woke up thanking God. Soon thereafter, they sent her home because miraculously she had returned to normal.
A few days thereafter, Rene and her friends went to the Palace to see Joel Osteen. She explained that when she arrived they explained that her seats were in the bleachers above the bleachers. You know the ones? Maybe not, I do. Rene was telling me how she called on the LORD; she explained it this way: “I said LORD, I cannot go all the way up to those seats there must be a mistake, my friends want to go home, you know I can’t go up there. LORD, I need your help, You’re going to have to fix this for me, I can’t do it.” In the meantime, her dilemma had been brought to the attention of the ushers who went and got the person who was in charge of decision making.

In the end, they took Rene and her friends to a private suite, right by the stage on the first floor. They were each given their own personal television monitor to assure that they could see and hear and they were served special food cooked to their specification and liking at no cost to them! Renee is consistent as many people are. Her consistency allows her to receive God’s best. God is her rear guard, He sees to it that people smile on her, that she is protected, that she has joy, that she has health, that her needs are met and she knows it.

The most important thing is that this type of favor is available to each and all of us. God is no “respecter” of persons…the bible says so. Rene singled out God, showed Him her love and regard for choosing her, she showed Him her faith, gave Him her full attention. Renee made Jesus the head of her life and NOT just in words. She calls on the LORD for every single decision. That’s what she does. My prayer for each of us this month is that we will stay in faith, stay on task and be consistent so we can each see the full measure of what God has for us.
