All the Bible Greats Knew Prayer by Elaine Davenport (October 23- 28, 2007)

All of the greats in the bible knew the power of prayer. We will take some examples and I simply ask you to meditate on a set of scriptures for each day. You’ll be Blessed….you will!

TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY

THE APOSTLE PAUL:

Romans 1:9 “… without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers.”
2 Corinthians 12:8
Ephesians 1:16 “Cease not … making mention of you in my prayers.”
Philippians 1:3, 4 “Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy.”
Colossians 1:9 “… since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you …”
Philemon 4 “… making mention of thee always in my prayers.”
2 Timothy 1:3 “…without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day.”

THURSDAY & FRIDAY

THE EARLY CHURCH:

Acts 2:42 “And they continued steadfastly … in prayers.”
Acts 1:14 “These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication …”
Acts 12:5, 12 “… but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.”

SUNDAY

ELIJAH THE PROPHET WAS SAID TO BE A “PROPHET OF PRAYER.”

The Bible records seven miracles by Elijah.

 

Miracles:

  • Drought (1 Kings 17:1)

  • Meal & Oil Multiplied (1 Kings 17:14)

  • Child Restored To Life and Health (1 Kings 17:22)

  • Sacrifice Consumed By Fire (1 Kings 18:37-38)

  • End of Drought (1 Kings 18:41)

  • Captains/Men Slain By Fire (2 Kings 1:10)

  • Waters of Jordan Divided (2 Kings 2:8)
