“Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.”
As a ten year old, I found out that God heard my prayers. I didn’t know all of what I know now but I knew something as a small child that a lot of adults do not know, That is; prayer is powerful and God is real! So based on my circumstances I put out a prayer for my future. It came to pass some sixteen years later and God has allowed me to truly enjoy his plan for my life for the last twenty plus years always keeping me.
No one could ever tell me that God isn’t real because He has answered every single prayer and I never hesitate to meet with Him. You see…prayer is the obvious way to speak with God but there are other important things to do. They include thanking God , [raising and worshiping Him, (praise and worship ushers in the presence of God), praying in the Spirit which is a heavenly language in which the individual prays out Gods perfect will for their life, meditating in the Word of God, confessing the Word of God which is an important faith Builder, listening for GOd to speak to your spirit or your heart andobeying what you have heard without dragging your feet.
Whether your approach to God is simple or intricate…He hears our prayers and answers and the bible is full of instruction about things to keep in mind. My favorite thing to remember is that God knows the heart! That keeps me going.
If you are a parent and you are reading this…I have a passage of scripture for you to read where God makes a simple request of you.
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
5And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
7And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
8And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
9And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
Deuteronomy 6: 4-9
I urge you to teach your children about God and to encourage them to pray.
And then here are the promises and the warning:
10And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,
11And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;
12Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
13Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
14Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;
Deuteronomy 6: 10-14
